The 80th Howard County Fair kicks off this weekend and runs through the 15th with a full slate of events. Tons of fun events, food, vendors, and more. Here’s the full schedule - it’s pretty packed!
Over in Olney, this Sunday kicks off Olney Theatre Center’s Summerfest - a free open house with free performances, food trucks, ticket giveaways, demonstrations, classes, and more. We love going there to see shows too.

Tax Free Week 8/9 - 8/15
From Sunday until next Saturday, sales tax won’t be collected on qualifying clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less per item as part of Maryland Tax-Free Week. The first $40 of a backpack or bookbag purchase will also be tax-exempt.
Columbia Mall Adds Paid Parking
Starting this past Monday, 120 spaces near Main Event and Restaurant Row will now be paid, according to WBALTV. It’ll be $2.45 for the first hour, $6.45 for up to three hours and $10.45 for 4+ hours. Response has been less than positive. 🤣

The official opening day was a week ago and they’re open from 11am to 10pm, get your ice cream fix early and often!
Wingstop, Quickway & Tim Hortons
The Merriweather Post tells us that the three tenants for the new Woodmere retail strip being built on Brokenland will house a Tim Hortons, a Quickway Japanese Hibachi, and a Wing Stop. Slated for an early 2027 opening.
