🏫 A reminder for those with kids in HCPSS, Easter Monday is no longer a day off from school. And schools start 2 minutes earlier though nothing changes about transportation… or school… except we hit the minimum hours required by the state. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🐰🐰 Also, double check the hours of your favorites spots as it’s Easter this weekend (Howard County Libraries, for example, are closed on Sunday). As a result, not too many Sunday events but hopefully the other days make up for it!

New Fulton Farmers Market 🧺
Starting in mid-April, there will be a new farmer’s market in Fulton at the turkey farm next to the school complex. It’s Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-2pm and will be operated by Milk Lady Markets.
North Laurel Community Center Expansion Complete
“This nearly 23,000 square foot, one-story addition to the NLCC includes a lap pool, a therapy leisure pool, women’s and men’s locker rooms, six family “universal design restrooms,” a reception area, office space, a youth playground, and a preschool playground.” Nice!

Kids Bowl Free This Summer! 🎳
A bunch of bowling alleys, including Main Event in Columbia, participate in Kids Bowl Free this summer. They have to be between the ages of 2 and 15 and you get two free games per day, per person. If you don’t have bowling shoes, you’ll have to rent them.
Maola Milk Plant Closing 🐮
The Maola milk plant in Laurel is closing this year. “The ingredients plant will close on June 1 and the full plant will close on December 31.” Unfortunately, 72 jobs will be lost.

Carroll County Arts Council 19th Annual PEEPshow - From now until April 6th, head to Westminster for a fundraising event featuring all manner of creations inspired by and made with PEEPS. There are 197 entries, so if you like PEEPS, this is the event for you.
Thursday Night Open Mic hosted by Lady Brion @ Busboys & Poets - For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
Charm City Run Club w. Black Flag Brewing - All paces welcome for a fun run and or walk, start and end at the store, go for a 2-3 mile run or walk, and receive a coupon for a discount at Black Flag Brewery.
Family Fun Day @ Columbia Mall - Mr. Jones & his Amazing Suitcase Circus will be at the center court from 10-11am .

Clarksville Farmer’s Market - The April Spring Preview farmers market will be this weekend from 9am to 1pm. There will be over a dozen vendors with everything sold having been grown, raised, or made in the Chesapeake region. Calvin Thomas will be performing as well.
Annual Daffodil Day Celebration - From 10am-2pm, enjoy a transformed historic cemetery (Whipps Garden Cemetery) filled with hundreds of daffodils and other spring blooms and support this Ellicott City landmark!
Bethany Church's Easter Extravaganza - Bethany Church welcomes you to join them for their annual Easter Extravaganza! In addition to the egg hunt they will also have inflatables, games, playground fun and more! Tickets are FREE but we do recommend a $10 donation per family. Please pre-register.
2026 Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza @ St. John Baptist Church - From 11am-2pm, enjoy a free egg hunt as well as rides ($3 for unlimited for kids) including carnival rides, pony rides, petting zoo and a live DJ.
Kid's Fest (2-12 years) @ Meadowbrook Park - $8 per child ($10 at the door) gets you access to a variety of inflatables, demonstrations, and other fun events. Seven food vendors will be on site and you can review the map here.
35th Annual Chesapeake Gem, Mineral, Jewelry & Fossil Show @ HoCo Fairgrounds - From 10am-4pm, free admission and parking to check out minerals, jewelry, fossils and gemstones. There will be activities for kids, door prizes, and a silent auction.
