Columbia Lakefront Bandshell 🎷🎸🎺
Construction has broken ground on a permanent bandshell at the Columbia Association Lakefront, which will replace the temporary canopy that is currently there. It will be completed in late spring 2026, just in time for more spring and summer concerts!
Free Flu Shots 💉
The Howard County Health Department offers free flu shots at various clinics from October 11th through November 16th. You can see the full schedule here.
Ilchester Park & Rec Center Breaks Ground 🌲
Howard County purchased Camp Ilchester from the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland and has recently broken ground on a park and recreation center. Phase one is making extensive renovations the existing activity center, adding playgrounds, widening roadways, and updating facilities - to be completed by Summer 2026.

Tersiguel’s to “Transition” in December…
After 50 years, Tersiguel’s French Country Restaurant in Ellicott City will be “closing” in December and be passed onto Nathan Sowers and Kimberly Kepnes. Nathan was a long-time former baker before the kitchen was destroyed and unable to be replaced. You can read the full story here along with wellspring of well wishes and fond memories.
Olney Ale House Reopening 10/28
According to The MoCoShow, after 2.5 years, the Olney Ale House opposite Olney Theatre will be reopening at the end of the month. After a fire five years ago shut down the restaurant, it was sold and went through extensive renovations. After that ordeal, it’s set to reopen soon!

Howard County Historical Society Furlough Friday - Hang out at the Museum of Howard County History from noon to 3pm and walk the galleries, enjoy free snacks, drinks, and fun activities. Open to all.
A Grand Day Out: The Mayhem Magical Circus - Former Ringling Brothers Circus performer Gregory May heads to the Ellicott City 50+ Center from 10:30am-12pm to entertain grandparents and grandchildren (4-11) alike and includes a simple cooking activity.
The Haunted Experience (7 yrs +) - From 6:30pm to 10pm, enjoy a spooky hayride for $10 per person (cash only) at Rockburn Branch Park, West.
